Since 2010, the industry of raising hill chickens has been widely developed in the village. Thac Dat Hill Chicken Breeding Cooperative Group was formed in 2013. The group’s chicken breeding has been based on its contracts which were signed with purchasing units in Tuyen Quang city, Hanoi and Yen Bai and Ha Giang Provinces.
The output of product and the profit of the group’s members have been always guaranteed and stable. As a result, Thac Dat Village has provided more than 30.0000 chickens per year.

In order to build the brand along with focusing on the planning of breeding areas, the commune authorities supported 15 households in Thac Dat Village, with VND20-VND30 million each, to build chicken cages in 2013. Currently, the commune has mobilised the villagers to expand their production scale towards more advanced farm models as well as helping them apply scientific and technical advances in breeding.
Thac Dat Hill Chicken Cooperative of Minh Dan Commune was formed in May 2020. In the near future, the communal People's Committee will mobilise financial resources to develop the hill chicken farming models in accordance with the VietGAP standards.
The promotion of clean chicken breeding has improved local people's incomes. The commune’s average income per capita has reached VND31 million per person per year, an increase of VND14 million as compared to 2015. This is one premise for the commune to fulfil all criteria of being a new-style rural area in 2020.
