In Kim Binh’s Ngoc Quang Hamlet, there are 16 Gac farming households with a total area of 15 hectares. According to locals, the Gac variety grown there is a hybrid with fruit weighing 2-3kg on average.

Each hectare of Gac can produce more than 20 tonnes of fruit in the first year of cultivation. At present, the price of ripe fruit is at VND6,000 per kilogramme, earning the growers an average of around VND100 million per hectare per annum.

In order to develop the models towards commodity production, the local authorities have initially issued specific directions and plans so that Gac cultivation can bring high economic efficiency for farmers.
