In order to encourage farmers to step up the application of advanced techniques in production, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Centre has implemented many models with high economic efficiency, suitable to the characteristics of each locality. Thereby, opening a new direction in the selection and development of new plants and animals, as well as creating sustainable livelihoods for farmers.

With the goal of building a chain of production and consumption of agricultural, forestry and fishery products with high productivity, quality and efficiency, the Provincial Center for Agricultural Extension has coordinated with relevant units and Minh Tam Cooperative (Son Duong) signed a contract to associate production and consumption of cucumber products with more than 50 groups of households, cooperatives and cooperative groups in 28 communes in Tuyen Quang Province. The average yield is 49 quintals per hectare while the output is over 15,500 tonnes. The average selling price of cucumber is VND5,500 per kg, and the average revenue is over VND87 billion.

Typically, there are some communes that grow cucumbers with high productivity and output such as Kim Phu Commune, Kien Thiet Commune (Yen Son), Yen Nguyen Commune (Chiem Hoa).

Hoang Van Long in Bao Ninh Hamlet, Yen Nguyen Commune (Chiem Hoa) said that with 1,500 m2 of field land to grow cucumbers in the winter crop in 2022, his family collected 7.7 tonnes of fruit. After deducting the cost of profit, he earned VND40 million.

In recent years, projects to support breeding stock have also been continuously replicated in many localities, including honey beekeeping model and model of grazing wild boar breeding towards biosecurity.

The project of building a model of honey beekeeping associated with product consumption with a scale of 400 colonies of 8 households in Thai Binh Commune (Yen Son province) has brought high productivity and good growth.

Meanwhile, the model of grazing wild boar breeding towards biosecurity associated with product consumption with a scale of 40 wild boars of 4 participating households in Hong Thai, Da Vi, Nang Kha, and Thanh Tuong communes (Na Hang) is highly appreciated.

In addition, the province's agricultural extension system has implemented 106 agricultural extension models to apply new varieties and new technical advances to production. Many models have been deployed with high economic efficiency and are widely grown such as 3-line hybrid rice variety Thuy Huong 308, TBR 225 rice, bamboo shoots associated with eco-tourism development in Hong Thai commune (Na Hang), etc.

Support models from the agricultural extension program are carefully selected, giving priority to new models suitable to local practices for demonstration, testing and dissemination.
