The Ward’s trade and service sector was estimated to have reached an average annual revenue of VND275.2 billion over the past five years. Hung Thanh now has 12 hotels and accommodation facilities as well as 63 companies, enterprises and cooperatives. Local businesses have grown rapidly, particularly in the areas of catering service, grocery and building material.
The 2015-2020 period has seen the largest number of investment projects in the locality, including five commerce and service projects, two projects on building new urban areas and three transportation projects. In particular, the building of Tinh Huc Bridge over Lo River is the province’s key project being implemented in Hung Thanh Ward.

Furthermore, Hung Thanh Ward has made plans for high quality rice fields with a total area of 60ha, which mainly produce Bac Thom (fragrant rice). The rice has average yield of 65 quintal per ha and an output of over 422 tonnes, generating an average income of over VND70 million per ha. The Ward also has arranged a 20ha vegetable-growing area together with two 0,5ha safe vegetable production models in order to ensure food quality and safety.
The cultivation value of agricultural land reaches VND98 million per ha while the agricultural, forestry and fishery production value reaches over VND27 billion in five years, up 4% year-on-year and exceeding 14% compared to the targets set out in the locality’s resolution.
In order to accelerate the accomplishment of the urban civilization standards, the Ward will create favourable conditions for enterprises, organisations and individuals to create leapfrogs in service and business activities in the locality.
