On both sides of Khon Lake, there are many fruit orchards of the local people.

In July, through a survey, HB Consulting Company (Korea) was very interested in exploiting Khon Lake. The company wished to cooperate and invest in Khon Lake. During the meeting with the company, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Chau Van Lam and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son said that it was very true that HB Consulting Company is interested in tourism exploitation in Khon Lake, because This is the point located on the development axis Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang - Phu Tho. The province is committed to creating the most favourable conditions in terms of procedures for investors to soon implement investment projects in Khon Lake.

In April, Khon Lake was also one of the survey points on the potential of tourism development of the Working Group to research, survey and evaluate tourism resources in the province under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Vice Chairman of Thai Son Commune People's Committee Hoang Thi Dao said that there are nearly 10 hectares of forest and fruit trees planted around Khon Lake. The Tay and Dao ethnic people in the locality have still preserved many unique cultural features such as Then singing, Tinh gourd lute, costumes, and house architecture.

In the future, Khon Lake is expected to become an eco-tourism area, attracting many tourists both inside and outside the province.
