The director revisited some filming locations for the movie and toured landscapes in the Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site and surrounding areas.
Vogt-Roberts said he plans to explore locations for other film projects, adding that he will introduce Ha Long Bay to other directors.
“Kong: Skull Island” tells the story of a group of explorers who go in search of the birthplace of the lord of giant apes.
The film was shot at different locations throughout Vietnam, such as Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh, Van Long Natural Reserve and Trang An Complex in Ninh Binh and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Quang Binh.
The movie has been seen as a great opportunity for Vietnam to introduce its natural landscapes to the world and promote local tourism.
On March 10, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism appointed Volt-Roberts as Vietnam’s tourism ambassador for 2017-2020.
