At a meeting with Chairwoman of the Russian Supreme Court Irina Podnosova on July 2, Binh noted that his visit aims to learn about the operation of first instance courts in Russia, which helps ease the workload for those at higher levels.
Briefing the host on Vietnam’s judicial reform, Binh said the country plans to devise a bankruptcy law and Russia’s experience in this field would be useful for the Supreme People’s Court.
Podnosova shared experience with her Vietnamese colleagues in digitalisation and the organisation of online trials which help speed up the work and improve the transparency in the sector.
Binh called for Russia’s support in training judges and court officials, as well as scholarships for students of the Vietnamese Court Academy to study in Russia.
At another meeting with Chairman of the Moscow City Court Mikhail Ptitsyn on July 3, the two sides touched upon mediation trials and digitalisation at the Moscow court.
While in Russia, the Vietnamese delegation also visited the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, the Third Cassation Court in charge of Northwestern Russia, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, and the Academy of Management at the the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
