US Ambassador to Vietnam pays working visit to Tuyen Quang

TQO - Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee, Pham Minh Huan, hosted a working session with a mission from the US Embassy in Vietnam, led by US Ambassador Daniel Kritenbrink, who paid a working visit to Tuyen Quang on the afternoon of October 24.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Pham Minh Huan, emphasised that in the past years, with the assistance from the US Embassy, Tuyen Quang has achieved positive results in the fields of diplomacy and socio-economic development and cooperation. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed that the US Embassy introduce organisations and businesses to invest, cooperate, promote trade and deploy programmes and projects in Tuyen Quang. The focus is on the processing of agricultural and forestry products in the form of technology support and production investment, as well as investing in the development of service and tourism infrastructure, in addition to connecting tours and routes to bring US tourists to Tuyen Quang.

The US Ambassador expressed his impression of Tuyen Quang’s beauty and hospitality from its people. The diplomat was also pleased that a number of projects have been implemented in Tuyen Quang, while committing to continuing and looking forward to investing more in the locality, especially in the fields of education, energy and wildlife conservation. Regarding the proposals from Tuyen Quang, the ambassador said that they are necessary for the development of a mountainous province like Tuyen Quang. The US embassy would try its best to respond to the province’s requests, he said.

During the working visit to Tuyen Quang, the US mission attended the 74th founding anniversary of the Vietnam - America Friendship Association organised by the Vietnam-USA Society Central Committee and joined exchanges with teachers and students of the Provincial High School for the Gifted and the Provincial Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, as well as visiting Tan Trao Special National Monument.
