Speaking at meeting, Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong essentially agreed with the Politburo's Proposal on building Can Tho into an ecological, civilized and modern city, a regional centre of service, trade, tourism, logistics, processing industry and high-tech agriculture, education and training by 2030.

To achieve that goal, it is necessary to perform well in ten key tasks and solutions with a focus on better planning and management, promoting the highest potential and advantages not only of Can Tho but also of the whole Mekong Delta; development of socio-economic infrastructure, especially synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, intra-regional and inter-regional connectivity; attracting and effectively developing high-quality human resources; and well implementing policies on management and exploitation of natural resources in association with environmental protection, among others.

On the same day, the Politburo also commented on theconstruction and development project for the central province of Thanh Hoa until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Delegates proposed a number of key tasks and solutions on good implementation of planning and management, especially urban planning, developing socio-economic infrastructure, especially urban infrastructure, synchronous and modern transport infrastructure; attracting and effectively using investment capital sources from all economic sectors for development on the basis of creating a breakthrough in administrative procedure reform, improving the investment and business environment; building appropriate mechanisms forinvestment, finance and management policies to build Thanh Hoa into a new growth pole, etc.
