TQO - The Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand should continue to fulfil the political tasks assigned by the Party, State and Government, contributing to consolidating and promoting the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Thailand, to develop comprehensively in all fields.

Former Vice President Truong My Hoa met and spoke with officials and employees of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, and representatives of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in Thailand.

The remark was made by former Secretary of the Party Central Committee and former Vice President Truong My Hoa, who is also Chairwoman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and chairwoman of the ‘For Beloved Hoang Sa (Paracel) – Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelagos’ Club, at a meeting on June 26 with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand including representatives of overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in Thailand, on the occasion of her visit to the Global Women's Summit.

At the meeting, on behalf of the embassy staff and the overseas community, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh welcomed former Vice President Truong My Hoa.

The Ambassador emphasised that the meeting at the Embassy is an extremely valuable opportunity for the former Vice President to speak about the very noble work of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the ‘For Beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa Archipelagos’ Club that is in progress.

The Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund (VSF) was formed on March 5, 1999, by the Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, honouring poor students from ethnic minority groups with excellent academic results, thus contributing to nurturing young talent and developing human resources in their areas.

The ‘For beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa’ club was established under the VSF with a vision to care for soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, and the children of fishermen and fisheries surveillance.

The former Vice President also represented the Club to receive the donation of the "sovereign canoe" project from the Vietnamese community in Thailand to the Truong Sa Island district and the DK1 rig-house, affirming that this is a practical contribution of overseas Vietnamese to the peace of the sea and islands.

Truong My Hoa called on Vietnamese expatriates in Thailand to continue to join hands in building a united community, actively contributing to the development of the host country, promoting the role of a bridge, and contributing to building friendship between Vietnam and Thailand more sustainably.

To strengthen the connection between the Club and the overseas Vietnamese community in general and Thailand in particular, the former Vice President presented the decision to add personnel to the directory board of the ‘For Beloved Hoang Sa – Truong Sa Archipelagos’ Club to Luong Xuan Hoa, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice President of the General Association of Vietnamese People in Thailand and Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Udon Thani.
