NA Standing Committee opens 47th meeting

TQO - The 47th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) opened at the NA Building in Hanoi on August 10 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Addressing the opening session, Chairwoman Nguyen ThiKim Ngan said the NASC 47th meeting takes place amidmore complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With its experience and under the direct instruction of the Government, the entire political system will continue to unite to urgently zone, control and handle outbreaks, she noted.

The top legislator asked NA agencies and organisations to make efforts to adapt to the current situation and fulfil the tasks of the remaining months of 2020.

She emphasised that after careful consideration, the NASC decided not to conduct the question and answersession at this meeting so that Government members can have more time to handle issues arising due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the morning session, under the chair of NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu, the NASC discussed controversial issues of the revised draft law on residence and the draft law on amendments and supplements to several articles of the law on handling administrative violations.

The meeting will conclude on August 12.
