Standing Deputy Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, Le Thi Kim Dung granted the NA Resolution on the establishment of Yen Son Town.

By the end of 2020, Thang Quan Commune achieved 19 out of 19 new-styled rural criteria with the total resources of VND63 billion.

According to NA Resolution on adjustment of administrative boundaries, Yen Son Town was established on the basis of the entire area of Thang Quan Commune and 3 hamlets of Tu Quan Commune and 2 hamlets of Lang Quan Commune with the total area of more than 29km2. The town's population is estimated at 22,401 people. The locality is devided into 21 residential groups.

On this occasion, a collective and eight individuals were awarded the Provincial's Certificate of Merit for their outstanding achievements in iplementing the project of adjustment of administrative boundaries and new-styled rural construction.
