The province is focusing on the master planning of the Tan Trao historical, cultural and ecological tourist site, My Lam mineral spring tourist area, and Na Hang eco-tourism area. This is the local authorities’ great push to form a "framework" for tourism activities in accordance with the province’s potential and advantages as well as attract investment into the field, avoiding spontaneous spreading and development.

Under the plans, provincial authorities have focused all resources on implementing key tourism development projects such as the preservation, restoration and promotion of the value of the Tan Trao special national historical relic site in Son Duong District in association with tourism development while improving the infrastructure in the My Lam Mineral Spring Tourist Area in Tuyen Quang city, Tan Trao National tourist site, Na Hang eco-tourism area, and Dong Tien scenic relic area in Ham Yen District.
The province has inaugurated an over 20-kilometre section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail that connects Tuyen Quang with Thai Nguyen, Bac Can and Cao Bang provinces into operation. In addition, Tinh Huc bridge in Tuyen Quang city is now able to be put into use.
The province has also upgraded Highway 37 to create favorable conditions for tourism development in Tuyen Quang City and at the Tan Trao National Monument.
