Supporting enterprises to renovate their technologies is one of the main tasks and top priorities of the provincial industry and trade sector so that local enterprises can grow faster and stronger towards the 4th industrial revolution.
The province earmarks about VND1-2 billion each year for the Local Industrial Encouragement Fund to build new production models. In 2019, Tuyen Quang created and approved three industrial models with a total funding of VND1.9 billion on new technologies in the production of black tea for export, metal roofing sheets and plywood for export.
Long Thang Company is given financial assistance in building its export plywood production line.
Ha Tuyen Tea Company, based in My Bang Commune, Yen Son District, specialises in producing tea for export. In early 2020, recognising the increased demand for its products, the company expanded its processing capacity from 15 tonnes of fresh tea leaves to 20 tonnes per day. The company is expected to export 500 tonnes of dried tea this year.
Long Thang Company, based in Ninh Lai Commune, Son Duong District, has expanded its business to manufacturing plywood for export, in addition to tunnel kiln brick. Along with its internal resources, the company was given access to VND1 billion from the National Industrial Encouragement Fund at the advice of the Centre for Industrial Encouragement and Consultation. It is estimated that the company will earn nearly VND150 billion from plywood exports and create jobs for 50 new local employees.
Nevertheless, the contribution of rural industrial facilities remains small compared with the province’s total industrial production. In order to enhance the competitiveness of these facilities, the provincial trade and industry sector will instead focus on building and supporting projects that employ advanced technologies while providing consultation fee assistance for rural industrial facilities in designing their products, packaging, building and registering brands and seeking new markets.
