Sam bo chinh (Hibiscus sagittifolius Kurz) is known as a precious herb, which is used from the roots to the leaves and flowers. According to the process, they would dry, crush them to make animal feed, creating specialty products such as sam bo chinh chicken, sam bo chinh pigs, etc.

Currently, on the market, each kilogram of fresh tubers of sam bo chinh costs from VND200,000 to VND700,000 depending on the size of the tuber. On an area of 1,000 m2 of cultivated land, after 1 year, farmers can earn about VND80 million from sam bo chinh.

"The agriculture sector of Na Hang District is very interested in the model of sam bo chinh cultivation in Thanh Tuong Commune. With the good evaluation of the current growth characteristics, sam bo chinh is expected to be planted in the district with large-scale. District leaders has directed the Agriculture and Rural Development Division of Na Hang District to work closely with Thang Dat Agriculture and Service Cooperative to successfully build a sam bo chinh model, creating a highlight in the development of Na Hang tourism associated with agriculture", Head of Agriculture and Rural Development Division of Na Hang District Vy Ngoc Quy said.
