To date, Ham Yen District has developed specialised farming areas for oranges, tea and raw woods with high economic values. In which, the area of king orange is over 7,2000 hectares with the average orange output of 80,000 tonnes per year. The product’s value is raging from VND650 billion to 1 trillion per year.
The area of 8 communes in the north of the district has been planned for the specialized cultivation area of oranges with the famous of king orange brand.

The district has also formed the sugarcane area to supply raw materials for Tuyen Quang Sugar Factory as well as developing an over 23-hectare tea growing area and a specialised one for high-quality rice with an annual output of over 53,000 tonnes.
In the past 5 years, Ham Yen District has planted nearly 13,000 ha of forest, with the coverage rate in the locality reaching 60%. The area of imported acacia forest reached 622 hectares.
The district’s agricultural sector has cooperated with relevant units to develop trademarks and expand consumption markets for Minh Huong fat duck, Tan Thai 168 tea, and VietGAP Luan Ky green tea.
To date, the district has had 756 hectares of VietGAP oranges, 17 hectares of organic oranges, over 20 hectares of VietGAP tea and more than 3,500 hectares of forests certified as meeting FSC standards.
