The tea area in Son Thuy village, Yen Thuan commune (Ham Yen) has been replanted with PH9 tea variety.
With over 8,300 hectares of tea, Tuyen Quang is one of the localities with the largest tea area in the country, with an output of over 70,000 tons of fresh tea buds per year, divided into 2 regions: The low hilly area grows tea varieties for concentrated industrial processing, accounting for 84%; the high mountainous area grows Shan Tuyet tea concentrated in Na Hang and Lam Binh districts, accounting for 16%.
Along with traditional tea varieties, the province has introduced many specialty tea varieties with high quality and economic value such as Kim Tuyen, Ngoc Thuy, Phuc Van Tien; and developed ancient tea areas such as Shan Tuyet tea.
The tea garden of Mr. Vu Van Bay's family, Tho Bang village, My Bang commune (Yen Son) applies automatic irrigation.
To date, the area of hybrid tea and specialty tea accounts for over 70% of the total area. Thanks to that, famous delicious tea villages have appeared in the province such as Lang Bat tea in Tan Thanh commune (Ham Yen); Shan Tuyet tea in Hong Thai commune (Na Hang); Vinh Tan tea in Tan Trao commune (Son Duong); Kim Tuyen and Ngoc Thuy tea of Su Anh tea cooperative in Phu Lam commune (Yen Son), etc.
The province has over 80% of the area of new tea varieties, over 1,300 hectares of tea applied with standards and regulations such as Rainforest, VietGap, organic. In addition, 30 tea products are ranked as OCOP products from 3 to 4 stars.
To promote in-depth development of tea trees, the province has encouraged people and businesses to increase the value of tea trees with many policies such as loan support, production machinery, etc.
