Na Hang strives to fulfil criteria of fourth-class city

TQO - With the goal of building and developing Na Hang town into a fourth-class city whilst still preserving its unique cultural values, the mountainous district of Na Hang is striving to fulfil the criteria to meet the standard of a fourth-class city in 2020.

So far, Na Hang town has 54.61 out of 100 points. There are four unqualified criteria including: population size, population density, the rate of non-agricultural labour, infrastructure development and urban landscape. Of the 52 standards, Na Hang town has 18 standards reaching a maximum score, 15 standards with a minimum score and 19 standards failing to receive score including per capita income, population, rate of non-agricultural labour, traffic road density, and typical architectural works, among others.

According to Hoang Anh Cuong, Chairman of the Na Hang District People’s Committee, in order to achieve the goal of building Na Hang town into a fourth-class city, the district is attracting investment and calling on economic sectors to expand business production in order to increase the population density of the inner city calculated on the area of urban construction land.

In addition, the district has also encouraged development and is creating favourable conditions for enterprises, households and individuals of all sectors to invest in business in the locality, as well as to efficiently use the central and provincial investment capital sources, while mobilising capital sources from various economic sectors and organisations to concentrate on infrastructure construction and urban embellishment. The district is completing the conditions to expand the administrative boundary of Na Hang town to 2025, including: Na Hang town and the six hamlets of Nang Kha commune (Phieng Bung, Na Chang, Na Kham, Na Kha, Na Vai, and Lung Giang).

Currently, the district is completing the construction of a square and a cultural and sports centre, as well as a project to protect Gam river bank downstream of Tuyen Quang hydropower project. Over recent times, the district has promoted attracting investment in infrastructure into Thac Mo and Phieng Bung Lam Vien eco-tourism sites, planned and built commercial and service points in Na Hang town, coordinated with all levels and branches to complete the investment projects in the district, focused on urban embellishment, and step by step invested in the construction and completion of urban infrastructure in the streets of Na Hang town.

The district has expanded and upgraded the construction of roads meeting the standards of urban roads such as the 2.5 km road from the beginning of Ne Bridge to the Na Hang high school, the road connecting Ba Dao Bridge to Hang Khao and the National Highway 279. A road connecting a stadium to Ban Luoc to Phieng Heo is also being repaired. Currently, Na Hang town has 4.5 km to reach the district road standard.

Along with attracting investment resources, the district is trying to promote tourism and service potentials to create more jobs for local people. A number of tours have been formed on the lake in association with the development of fisheries. A new tourist and service area in Na Tang is under construction, while a tourism complex connecting Na Vai and Nang Kha communes with Tat Ke - Phieng Bung eco-tourist site will be established.
