Nguyen Viet Phong takes care of the pomelo garden.
Before 2013, he was a leader of Construction Team, Electricity and Water Construction Company, under Song Hong Construction Corporation. Unluckily, he had a traffic accident that he had to amputate his left leg. He resigned from his job and returned to his hometown. At first, he traded agricultural products. After seeing the potential of agriculture of the locality, he renovated the garden and was a pioneer in bringing new plants to grow.
Accordingly, his family's hill garden with a total area of 7,5 hectares was planned by him to grow pomelo, orange and raise fish, bee and wild boar. The garden was subdivided into 4 hectares of pomelos, 3 hectares of oranges, 0.5 hectares of fish ponds. In addition, he raised dozens of colonies of bees for honey. Each flower crop, he also harvests over 150 liters of honey.
Now there are more than a dozen households learning from Phong to do clean agriculture. He said that in the coming time, he will develop a brand for Duc Ninh honey products, so that local people can rest assured to produce.
Thanks to the economic model, Phong's family can earn nearly VND1 billion per year.
