Meaningful digital transformation to improve national governance
The development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation is a top priority breakthrough and a key driver for rapidly developing modern productive forces, improving production relations and renewing national governance methods, thereby helping the country achieve breakthroughs in the new era. Against this backdrop, National Digital Transformation Day 2026 is themed: “National Digital Transformation: From Architecture, Platforms and Data to Tangible Results and More Effective National Governance.” Activities marking the occasion are being carried out in a spirit of innovation, creativity, modernity, practicality, thrift and efficiency, with the aim of creating widespread momentum throughout the political system, business community and society.
Ministries and sectors have been asked to select at least three key digital transformation tasks for completion before October 10, 2026, with priority given to addressing bottlenecks within the political system. In state administration, digital transformation is being accelerated through the processing of administrative procedures electronically, the use of digital data, the application of technology in management and administration, and guidance for people in accessing online public services. These efforts help save time and costs while improving the quality of services provided to the people.
Localities are continuing to promote the role of Community Digital Technology Teams, focusing on helping residents improve their digital skills and access digital services. They are also organizing activities in response to National Digital Transformation Day, with priority given to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, business households, cooperatives and residents in accessing digital platforms and services. Incentive programs, consultancy, training and pilot digital transformation solutions are also being rolled out during October 2026.
Digital transformation is not simply about applying information technology; it is a fundamental process of changing mindsets, management methods, working practices and daily habits across society. For the State, digital transformation helps build a modern and transparent administrative apparatus that operates more effectively and efficiently and provides better services to people and businesses. For the business community, digital transformation helps optimize production processes, reduce operating costs, expand markets, enhance competitiveness and create new value. For residents, it brings practical benefits, including the ability to submit documents online and receive public services at home, saving time and travel costs; access digital healthcare services, make medical appointments online and receive remote consultations; participate in online learning to expand knowledge and skills; conduct fast and secure transactions and cashless payments; and enjoy greater convenience in shopping and doing business through e-commerce platforms.
National Digital Transformation Day on October 10 provides an opportunity for every cadre, Party member and citizen to raise awareness, proactively embrace technology, make effective use of digital platforms and data, and gradually develop the habit of using digital services in work and daily life.
