Keeping the revolutionary spirit alive

Every August, in Tuyen Quang, the cradle of the revolution, historic sites recall the Autumn of 81 years ago, when the entire nation rose up to seize power, ushering in an era of independence and freedom. For Tuyen Quang, pride in the August Revolution remains a spiritual source of strength, inspiring the province on its journey of renewal and development.

Eighty-one years have passed, and the country has undergone profound changes, while the revolutionary cause now faces new demands. Yet the values that made the victory of the Autumn of 1945 possible remain as relevant as ever. If previous generations fought courageously to secure independence, today’s generation must turn independence and freedom into the driving force for development; transform revolutionary traditions into the will to innovate, the aspiration to advance, and a strong sense of responsibility to serve the people.

Carrying forward the tradition, therefore, cannot stop at pride or words of remembrance. It must be reflected in the dedication of every Party member and official; in the solidarity and sense of responsibility of every citizen; and in the younger generation’s aspiration to learn, innovate and contribute. It also means the determination to overcome difficulties, the courage to think boldly, act decisively and take responsibility in creating new values for the homeland. The true value of tradition must be measured by the changes it brings to people’s lives today, by the people’s trust, by new infrastructure and thriving communities, and by the steadily improving quality of life.

The Autumn of 1945 bequeathed to generations today an invaluable legacy: patriotism, the will to safeguard independence, the spirit of solidarity, and the aspiration to contribute. Preserving that legacy means continuing to contribute to the development of our homeland.

From historic Tan Trao to Tuyen Quang today, a new journey is unfolding. And carrying forward the tradition means living up to the lessons of history, acting responsibly in the present, and building a better future for our homeland.
