The commune currently has 544.9 hectares of rice, 207 hectares of maize and 162 hectares of peanuts. Concentrated production areas have also taken shape, including 11.36 hectares of rice cultivated under the “Five Together” model in Tan Thanh Village and 30 hectares of specialty Nep Cai glutinous rice in Tan Dien Village. Tea is intensively cultivated on 40 hectares in Thia and Thip villages, while 3.3 hectares of mulberry in Mang Village are opening up new opportunities for silkworm farming.

Livestock farming, aquaculture and new economic models are also expanding. The commune's total livestock and poultry population exceeds 155,000, while aquaculture output has reached 215 tonnes. New models, including black apple snail farming and civet farming, are being piloted to diversify local livelihoods.

For the family of Truong Van Thanh in Quy Quoc Village, livestock farming has provided a pathway out of poverty. Starting with an investment of VND130 million to purchase three breeding horses, including white and colored horses, the family has since sold eight horses, earning around VND200 million in profit. Combined with raising buffaloes and breeding pigs, the model has helped the family escape poverty and build a more stable livelihood.

Looking ahead, Bang Hanh identifies agriculture as a continued economic foundation, focusing on the development of “three crops and three livestock species” suited to local conditions. The commune plans to establish concentrated production areas, apply scientific and technical advances, strengthen production linkages and develop local brands. The goal is to shift from small-scale farming to commodity production, creating sustainable livelihoods and increasing incomes for local people.

From the revolutionary foundations laid in 1945, Bang Hanh is now writing a new chapter of its Autumn story, with bountiful harvests, youthful energy and an enduring aspiration for prosperity.
