Organising Committee of Ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians established

TQO - The Organising Committee of Ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians was announced at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 13, under the chair of National Assembly (NA) Standing Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

The committee was established under Decision No. 766/NQ-UBTVQH15, issued by the NA Standing Committee on April 12, 2023.

Under the decision, the committee will include 23 members and is to be headed by NA Standing Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

The deputy heads of the committee have been named as Bui Van Cuong, NA Secretary General and Chairman of the NA Office; Vu Hai Ha, Chairman of NA’s Foreign Affairs Committee; and Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Group of young deputies to the 15th NA.

The other 19 members of the committee include leaders of ministries, sectors, and NA-run agencies.

The ninth Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians will be held in Hanoi from September 14 to 18, focussing on the role of youth in promoting the realisation of sustainable development goals via digital transformation and innovation.

Speaking at the event, NA Standing Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed that Vietnam's hosting of the conference is an external event of great importance, affirming the country’s positive, active, and responsible participation in seeking solutions to today's global problems while illustrating Vietnam's attention to young people.

The conference will also an opportunity to introduce to international friends about Vietnam's cultural traditions, land, people, foreign policy, as well as achievements in post-COVID-19 recovery, he added.
