The final night was attended by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy PM appreciated the Voice of Vietnam (VOV)’s initiative in the organisation of the regional singing contest as well as the contributions made by Quang Ninh province, relevant ministries and agencies, and enterprises.
ASEAN countries have paid much attention to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values through cultural and people-to-people exchange programmes, he added.
Deputy PM Binh also noted that the singing contest conveyed a message of the solidarity, aspiration for peace, cooperation and development of ASEAN countries, towards building a friendly, peaceful and progressive world.
Two second prizes went to Tran Hong Nhung from Vietnam and Aicelle Santos from the Philippines; meanwhile Olivia Christina (Indonesia) and Eint Chit (Myanmar) were honoured with third prizes.
The ASEAN + 3 singing contest took place from July 26-28, featuring the participation of 22 contestants from ASEAN countries and four invited singers from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea.
