Vietnam is a country with great potential and advantages in agricultural development. The agricultural sector has made many contributions to economic development in recent times. However, many Vietnamese agricultural products have not yet built a brand. The rate of products produced according to sustainable standards and international certifications is only about 10%, and many Vietnamese agricultural products have a high rejection rate from foreign markets. One of the reasons is that they have not met the standards and conditions of other countries.
In the framework of the 36th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan said that the requirement for standardization of agricultural products is a big problem for the fragmented, small-scale, and spontaneous agriculture in our country today. Rebuilding concentrated raw material areas and linking them into strong cooperatives is an important task to overcome fragmentation. The policy of linking and consolidating small fields into large fields and small forests into large forests needs more attention from localities. In addition, planning and planning in the agricultural sector is a very important task in state management. In the past, many localities and many places have not really paid attention to this work. Some places have implemented it but there is a lack of synchronization between construction planning and land planning, so the implementation process has encountered barriers and difficulties. This makes the development of agriculture fragmented, small-scale and there is also a situation of people spontaneously converting crop structure leading to unsustainable agricultural development.
Therefore, it is necessary to do a good job of planning raw material production areas. Pay attention to the issue of code assignment, planting areas, and farming areas; develop regional specialty products to help increase the value of local agricultural products at each level, ensure the standardization of key agricultural products, and build an institution to protect the image of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market.
