Ham Yen district organizes the 2024 Tree Planting Festival.

Currently, the province has over 140,700 hectares of raw wood plantation forests. Each year, organizations and individuals in the area exploit and replant 8,000-10,000 hectares of forest. Seeds are the first factor that determines the quality of planted forests. To meet the needs of planted forest seedlings in the area, many units and households producing forestry varieties also develop. Currently in the province there are over 40 units and establishments producing and trading forestry seedlings, including 1 unit that researches and produces high-quality seedlings, Tan Trao University.

In 2024, enterprises and forestry tree seed production establishments in the area are expected to produce 30 million seedlings, of which more than 20 million trees serve the needs of afforestation in the province, and the remaining supply. Respond to forest growers in neighboring provinces. Immediately after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, many households and businesses in the province urgently prepared necessary conditions such as food processing, fertilizer supplies, and seeds to enter the new forest planting season.

To ensure successful afforestation work, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed specialized agencies to closely monitor the origin of seeds when planted; introducing new varieties, increasing the rate of varieties produced from tissue culture technology, with high productivity. At the same time, apply science and technology from land preparation, determining planting density, fertilizing, and taking care of forests to improve the efficiency of planted forests. Direct the local forest rangers to inspect and instruct households on how to plant and care for forest trees according to technical procedures, and choose and buy seeds at reputable, licensed establishments.
