Improving income from four-season lemons

TQO - Starting a business growing lemon trees in four seasons in 2015 with difficulties, now Mr. Khong Van Nam, in residential group 2, Doi Can ward (Tuyen Quang city) has become the Director of the Viet Bac high-tech agriculture Cooperative.

The cooperative specializes in selling lemons and providing products made from lemons such as: lemon dishwashing liquid, lemon essential oil spray, fresh lemon juice, etc. Currently the cooperative has 9 member households, each household has an income of VND400 - VND500 million per year, creating stable jobs for 40 - 50 local workers, with a salary of VND6 million - VND12 million per person per month.

The four-season lemon tree is planted and cared for by Mr. Nam's cooperative using organic methods, according to VietGap standards, so the lemon tree grows well, generating fruit all year round and is succulent.

The lemon garden is green and full of fruit.

Workers at the cooperative are selecting and classifying lemons.

Large lemons will be divided into separate baskets to sell to some supermarkets and markets in some provinces and cities such as Phu Tho, Hanoi, etc.

On average, the cooperative sells 20-30 tons of fresh lemons every day.

Small, ugly lemons are juiced to make fresh lemon juice and lemon essential oil.

Mr. Nam squeezes lemon juice and uses the residue to make dishwashing liquid.

In early 2023, the cooperative invested in a modern machinery system, at a cost of VND300 million, to refine products from lemons.

Currently, he has put products from fresh lemons up for sale on e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, shopee, tiktok, facebook, etc.
