The visiting delegation was led by Hendrik Jan Rick Slettenhaar, Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam, and Mario Giordano, Global Director of External Affairs and Government Relations at the Signify Foundation. Nguyen Trung Thu, Director of the provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, chaired the meeting alongside representatives from the local Youth Union.
During the working session, provincial leaders expressed gratitude to the Signify Foundation, Signify Vietnam, and ASSIST/Philippines for funding the "Lighting Gift" project. The initiative has successfully installed nearly 800 lighting systems across 34 locations in 15 communes, illuminating over 100 kilometers of rural roads and significantly improving safety for local people.
Presenting an overview of the province's socio-economic development, local officials emphasized Tuyen Quang's commitment to mobilizing foreign investment and non-governmental support. The province aims to enhance living standards, build climate-resilient infrastructure, and promote sustainable livelihoods, particularly for women and children in remote and disadvantaged areas.
