Son Thuy accessing electricity from the national grid.

In July 2021, after a long time of yearning, the joy of 91 households with 360 members of Son Thuy Hamlet was multiplied, because the desire to have electricity for many generations became a reality when the company Tuyen Quang Electricity has invested in the construction of power supply works for Son Thuy and Luc Khang hamlets with an investment of over VND7 billion to be completed.

Since accessing the national grid system, the production conditions of the people in hamlet have changed and developed. As soon as there was a project to supply electricity to the national grid for Son Thuy Hamlet, Pham Van Bung in Son Thuy Hamlet invested in building a tea processing factory, installed a 3-phase power system and established Thuan Green Tea Cooperative. Currently, green tea products processed at the factory are offered to the market at a price of VND130,000 per kg, many times higher than selling fresh bud tea, bringing high income to cooperative members.

Chairman of Yen Thuan Commune People's Committee Ma Ngoc Tien said that there are 89 families out of 91 households in Son Thuy develop their economy from tea. In addition to the tea growing area, the locality has mobilized people to develop forestry and animal husbandry economic models, apply machines into production. As a result, up to now, the village has only 8 poor households, with per capita income of more than VND36 million per person per year.

Son Thuy is changing, a new life rhythm in the highland is flourishing thanks to the innovation in the way of thinking, doing and the timely catching up of the people with the support of the State, contributing to Yen Thuan's early completion of new rural construction according to the roadmap by 2024.
