Yen Son creates jobs for ethnic minority women

TQO - In recent years, the Women's Union (Women's Union) of Yen Son district has helped rural women, especially ethnic minority women, access vocational training policies and employment support, contributing to poverty reduction.

Every year, the district Women's Union develops a plan to implement job creation and vocational training to meet the needs of women members and in accordance with the actual situation of the locality.

The Association coordinates with the district Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the district Center for Vocational Education and Continuing Education to propagate and advise on employment and vocational training policies for workers, especially young people, ethnic minority women, helping women grasp labor market information, Party and State policies on job creation and vocational training.

The professions that women members often choose to participate in are: growing mushrooms, clean vegetables, raising livestock, making bamboo toothpicks, and sewing traditional ethnic costumes, ensuring that after completing their studies, members can apply the knowledge for families to develop economically and gradually stabilize their lives.

In 2023, the District Women's Union coordinated with units both inside and outside the province to open 10 vocational training classes on growing fruit trees and clean vegetables for more than 450 women members; Propagating and consulting on labor export in 28 sessions for more than 1,500 members, women and people in the area. There are 835 female workers in the district who have been introduced to jobs, and there are 127 female members working abroad. During the year, the whole district established 36 new good economic development models, with income of VND100 million per year in 28 communes and town. By 2023, there were 120 female member households escaping poverty.

Vocational training and job creation support for ethnic minority women at all levels of the Women's Union in Yen Son district in recent times have contributed to women members sticking to the union's work. At the same time, increase income, helping women build equal, progressive and happy families.
