Thanks to the development of cage fish farming on the lake, many households in Na Hang town have escaped poverty and become rich effectively.
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Na Hang town, currently in the town there are 110 households and 3 cooperatives participating in aquaculture with more than 900 cages of various types of fish, the output of aquatic products is increasing, reaching over 850 tons.
In addition to popular fish breeds such as grass carp and common carp, many households raise specialty fish breeds including catfish, silver carp, catfish, etc.
Fish farming models on the Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir all bring a stable source of income, many households have escaped poverty and become rich effectively. Households with many cages belong to cooperatives such as: Ha Binh Aquatic Products Cooperative, Fishing Village Aquatic Products Cooperative, Do Cao Cuong's family in residential group 6 raises over 60 cages, Trinh Ngoc Ha's family in residential group 7 raises 65 cages, Pham Thi Tinh's family in residential group 2 raises 40 cages, etc.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Hoang Yen, Chairman of Na Hang Town People's Committee said that in the coming time, the town will continue to have solutions to encourage organizations and individuals to invest and develop aquaculture models in the direction of commodity production. At the same time, the local authority direct specialized staff to regularly inspect and guide people to implement disease prevention measures for fish as well as coordinate with units to organize training courses on aquaculture techniques on hydroelectric reservoirs for households raising fish in cages to improve the output and quality of fish meat supplied to the market.
