Digital transformation drives retail development in Tuyen Quang
In recent years, Tuyen Quang Province has identified promoting the application of e-commerce and digital transformation in the retail sector as a key task in realizing the goal of building a digital economy under the national digital transformation program. Supporting digital transformation in retail activities enables sellers and buyers to connect more easily across multiple digital platforms, thereby creating greater value and improving operational efficiency.

Among essential commodities, petroleum products play a vital role, directly affecting business operations, production activities, and people’s daily lives. This sector also has a significant impact on the consumer price index and the local macroeconomy. The digitalization of petroleum management has therefore made an important contribution to improving efficiency in production, distribution, and State management.
According to a representative of PVoil Hanoi in Ha Giang 2 Ward, all operational and management systems at petroleum retail outlets have now been fully digitalized. Data from fuel pumps and storage tanks are transmitted directly to the central control system for monitoring and verification. This system has been implemented since 2021 and gradually expanded across all outlets to meet regulatory requirements. Notably, from April 1, 2024, issuing electronic invoices for each retail sale of petroleum products has become mandatory. To date, 100% of petroleum retail outlets in the province have adopted electronic invoicing per transaction, contributing to tax loss prevention and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Alongside major retail enterprises with nationwide chains such as WinMart supermarkets, WinMart+ convenience stores, Dien May Xanh, and fashion brands including Tokyo Life, IVY, and Owen, which have actively applied digital technologies, local retail businesses in Tuyen Quang have also joined the digital transformation process. Currently, more than 70% of individual retailers and household businesses in the province have gradually adopted digital tools, including investing in computer equipment, using sales management software, applying cashless payment methods, and selling products via social media platforms.
Digital transformation has also opened new opportunities for small household businesses and traditional producers in rural areas. Many local products have expanded their markets thanks to online sales through social networks and e-commerce platforms. From small-scale production, several facilities have increased output significantly, supplying goods to major cities across the country and even exporting to neighboring countries.
In 2025, the total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in Tuyen Quang Province were estimated at VND 58.7 trillion, meeting the annual target. Entering 2026 amid numerous challenges, the province aims to achieve total retail sales and service revenue of VND 63.66 trillion, an increase of 8.4% compared to 2025. To realize this goal, alongside macro-level solutions, digital transformation has been identified as a strategic measure to promote e-commerce development, enhance the visibility of local brands and specialty products domestically and internationally, optimize operational and advertising costs, and ultimately boost sales and revenue for individuals and businesses.
