In recent years, Lam Binh Commune (Tuyen Quang) has made significant strides in digital transformation, empowering local people with technology and narrowing the digital gap between rural and urban areas. The commune, where 98% of the population belongs to ethnic minority groups, has increasingly applied technology across various sectors, particularly in security management and economic development.

Nearly 20 security cameras have been installed along roads and in residential areas throughout the commune, assisting local police in maintaining order and preventing crime. Hoang Van Thuc, a resident of Lang Chua village, shared: “The camera system allows me to monitor my home via my phone, which gives me greater peace of mind.”

The digital transformation is not limited to security; it has also revolutionized business practices. Hoang Minh Khuyen, the owner of a local restaurant in Kien village, uses social media and livestreams to promote his dishes, attract customers, and maintain steady sales.

Currently, 95% of adults in Lam Binh use smartphones, and more than 70% of households have access to fiber optic internet. Digital technology has penetrated agriculture, enabling residents to access information and techniques for farming and livestock management. The local government has also been actively supporting digital adoption, connecting residents with businesses and technical service providers.

Lam Binh is aiming to develop "smart villages" with digital infrastructure, digital services, and the application of technology in agriculture, which will help accelerate economic and social development.
