Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Hau A Lenh emphasized that after the merger of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang, the new province holds great potential for cooperation with Yunnan in the fields of border-gate economy, cross-border trade, labor, agriculture, and people-to-people exchanges. In the first nine months of 2025, import-export turnover through border gates reached 797 million USD, up nearly 88% year-on-year; more than 17,000 Tuyen Quang workers are currently employed stably in Yunnan.

He proposed further cooperation in infrastructure development at border gates, labor exchange, human resource training, digital transformation, agriculture, tourism, and trade, contributing to deepening the friendship between the two provinces.

Yunnan Party Secretary Wang Ning highly valued Tuyen Quang’s socio-economic progress following the merger, affirming that Yunnan always attaches importance to its traditional cooperative relationship with Tuyen Quang. He expressed his wish to enhance cooperation in infrastructure connectivity, border trade, cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges between the two sides.

The meeting contributed to strengthening the traditional friendship and opening up new, practical directions for cooperation between the two provinces, thereby realizing the spirit of “long-term stability, comprehensive cooperation, good-neighborliness, and forward-looking development” between Vietnam and China.
