Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Van Son: Renew mindset, unlock potential for sustainable development in Son Vi
On the afternoon of July 8, Comrade Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, conducted an inspection and assessment of the two-tier local government model in Son Vi Commune.

Formed from the merger of three former communes of Thuong Phung, Xin Cai, and Son Vi, the newly established Son Vi covers over 110 km² and has a population of more than 3,300 households. Despite early progress, the locality still faces challenges such as a poverty rate nearing 50%, infrastructure gaps, and a shortage of qualified personnel.
Chairman Nguyen Van Son urged local leaders to focus on consolidating the administrative apparatus, renewing leadership thinking, accelerating digital transformation, enhancing governance capacity, and maintaining national defense and border security.

He also stressed the importance of thoroughly evaluating local natural and social conditions to chart a strategic development path for the 2025–2030 term.
On this occasion, the working delegation and sponsors presented gifts to Son Vi Commune, policy beneficiary families, and visited officers at the Sam Pun border checkpoint and staff at the Nho Que 1 hydropower plant in Meo Vac commune.
