New prospects for cooperation between Tuyen Quang and Yunnan

From May 28 to 30, Hau A Lenh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, led a provincial delegation on a working visit to Yunnan Province, China. The visit achieved significant outcomes, helping translate the common understanding reached by the senior leaders of the two Parties and States into concrete actions, while opening up new prospects for cooperation between Tuyen Quang and Yunnan.

A highlight of the visit was participation in the Joint Meeting and the 6th Annual Conference between the Party Secretaries of Tuyen Quang, Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Dien Bien provinces and the Party Secretary of Yunnan Province. Speaking at the events, Lenh emphasized that the annual conference mechanism has proven effective in strengthening political trust, promoting friendship exchanges and expanding comprehensive cooperation between localities on both sides.

During the meetings, he called for continued coordination in developing transport infrastructure connecting border gates, accelerating the implementation of cross-border transport projects, and expanding passenger and cargo routes to facilitate trade and investment cooperation.

Alongside trade, tourism was identified as a sector with considerable potential for collaboration. The two sides agreed to strengthen connections between travel businesses, develop inter-regional and cross-border tourism routes, jointly organize cultural and tourism promotion activities, and facilitate travel through the Thanh Thuy–Tianbao International Border Gate using border passes.

The visit also expanded cooperation in culture, education, healthcare, science and technology, agriculture, and sustainable development. Tuyen Quang expressed its desire to enhance cooperation with Yunnan in high-tech, green and organic agriculture, technology transfer, and digital transformation in agricultural production.

As part of the visit, Lenh met with Zhao Guoliang, Secretary of the Wenshan Prefectural Committee. The two sides agreed to maintain existing cooperation mechanisms, increase delegation exchanges, promote people-to-people exchanges, and deepen cooperation in trade, tourism, agriculture and border management.

The outcomes of the visit are expected to provide fresh momentum for cooperation between Tuyen Quang, Yunnan and Wenshan Prefecture, contributing to the development of a peaceful, friendly, stable and sustainable border region.
