The gift from the mountains

As the morning sun casts its golden light over terraced rice fields turning the color of the new harvest, Hong Thai - known as the "gateway to the sky" in Tuyen Quang Province - comes alive with the harvest season of one of its signature mountain delicacies: the local pear. Replacing the dreamy, mist-covered charm of the blooming season, the pear harvest paints a picture of abundance and prosperity. Beneath the deep green foliage, clusters of round, russet-skinned pears sway gently in the breeze, preserving the crisp texture and delicate sweetness nurtured by the mountain soil.

This year, favorable weather conditions have resulted in a more abundant pear harvest.

The golden-ripe pears are especially appealing.

Dang Thi Ha, a resident of Khau Trang Hamlet, said this year's pear season has been particularly productive, attracting large numbers of visitors eager to experience harvesting the fruit firsthand.

Dang Xuan Cuong, owner of a pear orchard in Khau Trang Hamlet, said he expects to earn around VND 80 million from this year's harvest.

Children especially enjoy climbing the trees to pick pears and tasting the fresh fruit right in the orchard.
