Camera traps capture numerous rare wildlife species in Du Gia – Dong Van Karst Plateau National Park

Du Gia – Dong Van Karst Plateau National Park is located in Tung Ba, Minh Son and Du Gia communes, Tuyen Quang Province. The area is known for its high level of biodiversity.

 
 

According to records, in addition to its rich flora, Du Gia National Park is home to 318 species of terrestrial vertebrates, including 72 mammal species, 162 bird species, and 84 species of reptiles and amphibians. Among them are 35 rare species, most notably the Tonkin snub-nosed monkey, one of the world’s 25 most critically endangered primates, currently living in the Khau Ca forest within Du Gia National Park.

 
 

In recent years, forest rangers and relevant agencies have intensified their efforts to protect wildlife and forest resources in Du Gia National Park, while conducting biodiversity surveys, implementing monitoring programs, and promoting scientific research.

 
 
 

Recently, camera trap systems operated by the Khau Ca Research Team and the Tonkin snub-nosed monkey monitoring team at Du Gia National Park recorded numerous images of rare wildlife species. Thanks to its diverse and well-preserved forest ecosystem, Du Gia National Park has become an attractive destination for visitors to the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark.
