Hong Thai commune, located at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level, enjoys a cool temperate climate. Every year, farmers cultivate only one crop of terraced rice. Around mid-October, the terraced fields of Hong Thai are covered in a brilliant golden hue as the rice ripens.
On the winding terraced fields, likened to “stairways to heaven,” Dao Tien, H’mong, and Tay ethnic people joyfully begin their harvest season.
The fragrance of freshly ripened rice mingles with the early morning mist, while the golden landscape and the radiant smiles of the farmers create a poetic picture of peaceful rural life.
