Groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration and development of Lung Hau Cultural Tourism Village

On August 10, the Tuyen Quang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the provincial Tourism Association, the People’s Committee of Lung Tam Commune, H’Mong Village Investment and Tourism Development JSC, and Switzerland’s Haviltas Sustainable Tourism Development Cooperation Organization, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to restore, reconstruct, and develop Lung Hau Cultural Tourism Village in Lung Tam Commune.

Lung Hau, home to 118 households of the H’mong ethnic group, will undergo comprehensive improvements under the project, fully funded by H’mong Village. The initiative aims to promote community-based, green, and responsible tourism in line with Swiss standards. In partnership with Haviltas. It will also implement communication campaigns and provide training in sustainable tourism skills for local people.

The first phase is scheduled for completion by September 2, 2026. It includes upgrading 20 houses to meet international hospitality standards, establishing a reception area and an international-standard restaurant, and enhancing the village landscape to be greener, cleaner, and more attractive. The ultimate goal is to transform Lung Hau, a traditional farming village located 1,500 meters above sea level, into Tuyen Quang’s first model H’mong community-based tourism village.

Speaking at the event, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh welcomed the project and called on relevant departments and Lung Tam Commune to work closely together to develop community tourism while preserving ethnic cultural heritage. He emphasized the need to protect the environment and maintain the distinctive cultural identity of the H’mong people in the UNESCO-recognized Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark, turning these cultural assets into unique tourism products.

The Party Secretary also urged local authorities, investors, and residents to uphold their commitment to making Lung Hau a hub for the performance, preservation, and promotion of traditional H’mong culture, ensuring its transmission to future generations.

On behalf of participating organizations, Provincial Tourism Association Chairman Lai Quoc Tinh expressed gratitude to provincial leaders, Haviltas, and the local community, pledging close coordination to successfully implement the project and position Lung Hau as a distinctive cultural and tourism destination.
