The Red River road project, regarded as one of Hung Yen’s most important transport initiatives for the 2020–2025 period, will connect cultural heritage and tourism sites while supporting economic growth.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Than highlighted that the project aims to improve essential transport infrastructure, facilitate the movement of goods and people, unlock land potential along the route, and attract investment for the development of industrial clusters, urban areas and tourism services.

Stretching over 55 kilometres and passing through 13 communes, the road has a maximum speed of 100 km/h, alongside feeder roads built to national standards.

The project has a total investment of 9.27 billion VND (379 million USD) sourced from the provincial budget and is scheduled for implementation between 2025 and 2027. To date, 65 hectares of land have been cleared, accounting for around 24% of the required site area.

*On the same day, Hoa Phat Group commenced construction of a 5,000 billion VND (204 million USD) worker housing and social housing project in Yen My II Industrial Park.

Covering 31 hectares, the development will include 27 apartment blocks with around 9,000 units, 250 terraced shophouses, and a full range of amenities and social infrastructure.

Located in Yen My Commune, adjacent to National Highway 39A and just 4 km from the Ha Noi – Hai Phong Expressway interchange, the site offers strategic connectivity to Hai Phong Port and key economic hubs in northern Viet Nam.

The first apartment blocks are expected to be completed and handed over by June 2027, helping to address the pressing demand for worker accommodation and improve living standards for both industrial park employees and local residents.
