“The key” to elevating tourism’s position
Tourism has been identified by Tuyen Quang Province as an important integrated economic sector, driving growth, creating jobs, preserving culture, protecting the environment, and promoting the local image. Amid increasingly fierce competition among destinations, the development of distinctive and differentiated tourism products closely linked to local advantages is considered the “key” to enhancing Tuyen Quang’s competitiveness and position on the national and international tourism map.
Following the merger of administrative boundaries, the province has gained more favorable conditions to develop a system of distinctive tourism products, effectively tapping into its natural resources, cultural identity, historical relics, as well as border gates and an increasingly well-invested tourism infrastructure. To date, the tourism product system has gradually taken shape in a diversified manner, leveraging the strengths of natural resources and unique cultural identities of each region and locality.

Community-based tourism continues to be a highlight, with 54 potential community cultural tourism villages across the province, 28 of which have been officially recognized as meeting standards to serve tourists. Many villages have become attractive destinations for both domestic and international visitors. Notably, nine villages are associated with OCOP products rated three to four stars, combining homestay services with cultural experiences, cuisine, and traditional handicrafts, thereby increasing incomes and improving local livelihoods.
In the field of eco-tourism and resort tourism, the Na Hang – Lam Binh Ecotourism Area is gradually affirming its role as a key tourism product and is completing procedures for recognition as a national tourism area. My Lam mineral springs have attracted large-scale investment projects, gradually forming a range of resort and health-care tourism products. Adventure and experiential tourism has also begun to make its mark with activities such as hot-air ballooning, paragliding, trekking, mountain climbing, and kayaking at well-known destinations.
Cultural and historical tourism remains a prominent strength, with special national relic sites such as Tan Trao and Kim Binh. The Thanh Tuyen Festival has set a Vietnam Guinness record, becoming a distinctive cultural tourism product with wide national appeal. The UNESCO Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark has been honored as the “World’s Leading Cultural Destination 2025.” Trade and border tourism is also being gradually developed through Thanh Thuy International Border Gate and highland markets.
Alongside these achievements, the province’s tourism product development still faces limitations, including uneven quality, spontaneous and small-scale development in some areas, a shortage of high-end products with national and international stature, and relatively low visitor length of stay and spending. In response, the province is implementing comprehensive solutions, including improving the quality of community-based tourism, developing high-quality human resources, upgrading tourism infrastructure, intensifying promotion through modern methods, and strengthening regional linkages and international cooperation, to create distinctive and sustainable tourism products that elevate Tuyen Quang’s tourism profile.
