Strengthening forest fire prevention and control during the peak dry season

16:11, 13/04/2026

To proactively respond to prolonged dry weather, especially during the current peak dry spell, the provincial People’s Committee and relevant authorities have issued directives to urgently implement forest fire prevention and control measures.

Forest rangers across different areas have intensified patrols, closely monitoring weather developments and issuing forest fire warnings to local people. They are also coordinating with local authorities and forest owners to maintain 24/7 duty shifts at watchtowers and checkpoints, strictly controlling access to forest areas. The use of fire for clearing vegetation or slash-and-burn farming is strictly prohibited during periods of extreme heat. At the same time, communication efforts are being strengthened through various methods, particularly mobile outreach campaigns in villages using ethnic minority languages, helping residents better understand, remember, and ultimately change their behavior to actively participate in forest fire prevention.
