Maintaining border security on election day

14:35, 12/03/2026

In preparation for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, police forces in 17 border communes of Tuyen Quang Province are intensifying efforts during a peak campaign to maintain security and social order along the more than 277-km border line.

Identifying the area as strategically important, commune police forces have developed comprehensive plans and established strict security measures at all polling stations. They have also closely coordinated with Border Guard forces to strengthen patrols and control along trails and border crossings. Working groups stationed in villages are implementing the “four on-the-spot” principle, strictly managing household registrations and promptly detecting and resolving emerging incidents at the grassroots level. Inspections of fire prevention and fighting systems, electricity supply and communication networks at polling stations are being carried out carefully to ensure the best possible conditions for the major political event.

At the same time, the police have actively promoted election awareness campaigns through bilingual communication (Vietnamese and Mong language), integrated with cultural and sports activities to create a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere. These efforts help local people better understand their rights and responsibilities as voters while also enabling authorities to identify and counter false information circulating on social media. All measures aim to ensure absolute safety for the election in the border areas.
