Tuyen Quang, a land rich in revolutionary traditions, bears the imprint of many significant historical events during the nation’s years of resistance. Notably, the system of relics associated with the formation and operation of the Vietnamese National Assembly across the province holds not only great historical value but also serves as prominent “red addresses,” playing an important role in educating revolutionary traditions, nurturing ideals and fostering patriotism among the younger generation.

A representative site is the Central Standing Committee of the National Assembly Relic Site, part of the Special National Relic Complex of Tan Trao in Tan Trao Commune. Covering an area of more than 2,000 square meters, the site includes safe shelters and bunkers used by President Ton Duc Thang, a memorial stele house and a memorial house of the National Assembly Standing Committee. These landmarks reflect important milestones, where major decisions on state organization, institution building and consolidation of the fledgling revolutionary government were discussed during the resistance war against French colonialism, laying a solid legal foundation for the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

Through visits and study tours at these relic sites, students, Youth Union members and young people are able to access history vividly and intuitively. The historical spaces and stories associated with each location and artifact make history less abstract and closer to real life, helping the younger generation gain a deeper understanding of revolutionary traditions, the spirit of national unity, and the role and responsibility of the National Assembly in representing the will and aspirations of the people.

Recognizing the importance of historical relics in educating youth, Youth Union organizations at all levels in Tuyen Quang have actively renewed content and methods of traditional education. Various activities linked to National Assembly relic sites - such as “returning to the roots” journeys, thematic sessions, Youth Union induction ceremonies, Party member admissions, merit-reporting ceremonies and candle-lighting tributes - have been organized. These approaches help convey history in an engaging manner that suits the interests and psychology of young people.

Alongside traditional activities, many schools and Youth Union units have introduced creative experiential forms, including group presentations, history quizzes on the National Assembly, role-playing to reenact historical events, and producing videos and clips promoting the relic sites. These innovative methods have sparked enthusiasm and encouraged active learning and research among students and youth, enabling them not only to “see and hear” but also to “think and act.”

In 2025, the project to preserve and restore the Central Standing Committee of the National Assembly Relic Site, comprising 12 components, was completed on schedule, contributing to the enhancement of the site’s value and its service for traditional education. In practice, promoting the value of National Assembly relics not only helps preserve historical heritage but also carries profound significance in nurturing revolutionary ideals, patriotism and confidence in the leadership of the Party and the State - forming an important foundation for building a young generation in Tuyen Quang that is knowledgeable, resilient and responsible in the new era.
