Along the border route in Pho Bang Commune, regular patrols and inspections are carried out with the active participation of local people. At Border Marker 393, adjacent to Wenshan Prefecture (Yunnan Province, China), Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Quang, Political Commissar of Pho Bang Border Guard Post, said that the involvement of border residents in self-management teams for border lines and markers has helped foster a strong sense of ownership, with people viewing border protection as safeguarding their own homes. Dozens of such teams have been established, attracting hundreds of local participants.

According to Senior Colonel Dao Hong Ha, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, the force maintains close coordination with local Party committees and authorities to implement integrated measures to protect territorial sovereignty. Communication and outreach efforts encourage residents to comply with the Party’s guidelines and State laws, particularly the Vietnam Border Guard Law. Programs such as the “All-People Border Guard Festival,” “Self-Management Teams for Border Lines and Markers,” and “Border Guard Loudspeaker” have proven effective in raising public awareness and responsibility in border protection.

Border defense diplomacy has also been actively promoted, strengthening solidarity and friendship while maintaining a stable and cooperative border. In 2025, the provincial Border Guard organized nearly 30 talks, alongside extensive exchanges of letters, phone calls, border meetings, and joint patrols with counterpart forces. Both sides closely coordinated to promptly address cases of illegal border crossings in the Lung Cu area under the campaign theme “Swift Action to Eliminate Illegal Crossing Rings,” demonstrating proactive and effective cooperation.

Political, cultural, and sports exchanges between the Tuyen Quang Border Guard (Vietnam) and the Wenshan Migration Administration (China) have been conducted safely and effectively. Friendly sports activities and cultural performances reflecting ethnic identities have fostered mutual understanding, strengthened cooperation, and contributed to building a stable, secure, and peaceful border, creating a solid foundation for sustainable development and enduring friendship between the two nations.
