During days of torrential rain and rising floods, the light of compassion continues to shine through shared meals, glowing lamps, and open arms of support. Quiet yet powerful, kindness spreads through simple acts that strengthen those struggling in disaster-hit areas.

In Tuyen Quang, Typhoon No. 10 caused heavy damage, but alongside the swift response of local authorities, thousands of organizations and individuals inside and outside the province have come together to support flood victims. Some offered shelter, others donated rice, vegetables, and meat; many volunteered to cook, steer rescue boats, or transport relief goods - all united by a common goal: to help people overcome hardship.

The movement of cooking meals for flood victims has spread widely, from Ha Giang wards 1 and 2 to other affected communes. Thousands of hot meals are prepared daily from makeshift kitchens under the spirit of “sharing what we have.” The aroma of smoke replaces the sound of rain, bringing comfort amid adversity. In Bac Quang commune, Ms. Nguyen Khanh Ha’s volunteer group maintained four cooking stations, providing over 1,000 meals in just three days.

At Vi Xuyen commune, the local Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with residents to prepare nearly 2,000 meals a day for isolated households. Many families were moved to tears upon receiving hot meals amid the floods, calling them “the most heartwarming meals we’ve ever had.”

On the afternoon of October 1, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee urgently delivered 1,000 boxes of instant noodles, 300 boxes of bottled water, and 300 sets of essential goods, mobilizing police and military forces to distribute supplies directly to stranded residents. The provincial Red Cross launched a fundraising campaign, receiving the first ton of rice donated by the Safe Food Production Cooperative Sang Nhung. Meanwhile, the Tuyen Quang Youth Union quickly dispatched volunteer teams to assist with cleanup and post-flood recovery.

Although the total amount of donated goods and support has yet to be fully tallied, the outpouring of solidarity and compassion has clearly helped strengthen community bonds. These acts of kindness bring warmth and hope, helping flood-affected families regain confidence and rebuild their lives after the disaster.
