After more than 20 years of development, the Thanh Tuyen Festival has become a signature cultural event of Tuyen Quang province, recognized with multiple Guinness World Records, such as the Mid-Autumn Festival Night with the largest number of lantern models in Vietnam, the largest Mid-Autumn feast, and the largest pair of rotating lanterns. In 2024, the festival was officially granted a trademark registration certificate by the Intellectual Property Office, affirming its brand value and growing appeal.

In 2025, the festival expands its scale following the merger of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang provinces. The Thanh Tuyen Festival Night is scheduled for October 4 (the 13th day of the eighth lunar month) at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square in Minh Xuan ward and March 26 Square in Ha Giang 1 Ward. The art program “Shimmering Colors of Thanh Tuyen Festival Night” will be broadcast live, featuring diverse and creative lantern models contributed by central wards, including Minh Xuan, An Tuong, Nong Tien, My Lam, and Binh Thuan.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year’s event will showcase 55 outstanding lantern models, including five presented by the provincial Tourism Association. All models must comply with regulations on traffic safety, fire prevention, electrical safety, and festival etiquette. Notably, lantern floats from communes and wards will be registered and labeled with the official Thanh Tuyen Festival trademark, enhancing professionalism in the festival’s organization.

Alongside the main night parade, a series of side events will also take place: the program “Happy Mid-Autumn, Remembering Uncle Ho,” the Tuyen Quang Provincial Pickleball Open, the Provincial Table Tennis Club Tournament for the Thanh Tuyen Festival Cup, the 2025 Tuyen Quang Marathon, and an off-road car and motorbike performance. Most of these activities will be held in Minh Xuan Ward.

As the province’s cultural hub, Minh Xuan Ward is also preparing for its own Mid-Autumn Lantern Model Contest themed “Mid-Autumn Festival Night – Joyful Mid-Autumn,” scheduled for September 20. More than 50 lantern models will be selected to participate in the provincial-level festival night. On weekend evenings, trial parades have already filled the streets with vibrant energy, attracting both locals and visitors.

With meticulous preparations, the 2025 Thanh Tuyen Festival promises to remain a cultural and tourism highlight, where lanterns tell stories, bringing joy to children and offering visitors a unique and unforgettable experience.
