Truong Sinh Commune currently has more than 130 hectares of sugarcane, the area’s key crop and a stable source of income for hundreds of households. This year, average yields are estimated at 70 tons per hectare, up 10 tons compared to the previous crop, with total output reaching around 18,200 tons. Favorable weather conditions, healthy cane growth, high sugar content and stable purchasing prices under contracts with Son Duong Sugarcane Joint Stock Company have brought profits of VND 40–65 million per hectare to many growers.
The sugarcane season not only boosts farmers’ incomes but also creates seasonal employment for hundreds of local laborers. During peak days, harvesting teams of 10–15 workers operate continuously to meet delivery schedules for the factory. A notable highlight of this year’s crop is the close linkage among farmers, local authorities and the sugar mill. From the beginning of the season, growers signed off-take contracts, received technical guidance, and agreed on harvest and transport schedules, helping to avoid congestion and price pressure.
Local authorities in Truong Sinh have closely monitored and coordinated the harvest in line with plans to reduce losses and intermediate costs, thereby improving efficiency for both farmers and processors. According to commune leaders, such linkages are the key to the sustainable development of sugarcane cultivation.
Alongside harvesting activities, Son Duong Sugar Mill is expediting preparations for the 2026 crushing season, including maintenance of production lines, workforce arrangements, equipment upgrades and close coordination with raw-material areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.

For the 2025–2026 crop year, the company plans to harvest about 2,500 hectares with an estimated yield of 60 tons per hectare, producing around 150,000 tons of raw sugarcane, equivalent to more than 13,700 tons of refined sugar. The company is also promoting high-yield, high-quality sugarcane varieties suited to local conditions, signing transport contracts, arranging loading equipment, and coordinating with local authorities to repair farm roads to facilitate cane transport.
In practice, many households have achieved stable livelihoods thanks to sugarcane cultivation. In Trai Mit Hamlet, around 90% of households are linked with the company in growing sugarcane, enabling stable incomes and improved living standards. Sugarcane has truly become the area’s “pillar crop,” contributing significantly to agricultural restructuring and opening up prospects for sustainable and efficient agricultural development in Truong Sinh Commune.
