The establishment of the Tan Quang Commune Ornamental Organisms Association marks a new step forward for the My Tan flower and ornamental plant village.

In 2021, My Tan was officially recognized as a craft village specializing in the production and trading of flowers and ornamental plants, opening up an entirely new outlook for this rural area along the Lo River. The variety of flowers and ornamental plants has grown increasingly diverse, including peonies, gladiolus, chrysanthemums, roses, orchids and camellias. Among them, ornamental peach trees, sweet osmanthus, Podocarpus macrophyllus, and golden cypress have become key crops, shaping the “My Tan brand.”

Each year, the craft village supplies the market both within and outside the province with products valued at over VND 4 billion; peach blossoms alone generate more than VND 1 billion in revenue. Average income reaches VND 60 million per household per year, with many households earning hundreds of millions of dong.

Beyond economic value, the flower and ornamental plant industry also provides regular employment for dozens of local workers, with an average income of over VND 7 million per person per month, along with dozens of seasonal laborers. From this revitalized internal strength, residents have united to build a cultured lifestyle, enhance the landscape, and maintain security and public order.

Local people are willing to contribute funds, donate land for road expansion, build cultural houses, and plant flowers along more than two kilometers of village roads. My Tan has also become a bright spot in the model of “Peaceful Villages – Comprehensive Development,” with self-management and mediation teams operating effectively.

In early 2026, to strengthen linkages, enhance the value of flowers and ornamental plants, and build a strong brand, Tan Quang Commune established an Ornamental Organisms Association. The flower and ornamental plant production model in My Tan has also attracted neighboring localities to visit, learn from, and replicate.
